Audi Renovatio T500Tushek, a small firm based in Slovenia, recently announced that it will unwrap a supercar during the Top Marques Monaco auto show this coming April.

The supercar will be known as the Renovatio T500. The car is a creation of the brand founder, Aljosa Tusek and was designed following the obsession for lightweight materials and the race specifications to give that superb driving experience. The fast ride takes the shape of a convertible two-seater with a hardtop that can be removed when one pleases.

The chassis of the Renovatio T500 is crafted from an alloy made of chromium-molybdenum and has incorporated a roll cage. The body of the car is made from carbon composites and carbon fiber materials. The curb weight of the car is pretty low , tipping the scale at 2,497 pounds.

When you look at the Renovatio T500 from an angle, you might say the lines look like Lotus with the scissor doors of course from Lamborghini. The tail end of the car sports a huge spoiler which can easily be adjusted by flicking a switch.

Buyers of the Renovatio T500 has a wide range of colors to choose from. You can visit the website of Tushek to see the finish that suits you.

The interior of the car is very simple and clearly built to race. The passengers will be hugged by bucket seats. The driver also gets a panel of digital gauges which also allows him to track the time of his run. The other gauges on the dashboard include those for oil pressure, water temperature, and oil temperature.

The supercar from Slovenia will be powered by an engine from Audi. The sourced powerplant is a 4.2L 32-valve monster coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The engine can output 450 horsepower with a torque of 315 pound feet. Tushek claims that a 0 to 62miles/h sprint will only need 3.7 seconds. The top speed of the Renovatio T500 is claimed to be 193 miles/h.

The owner of the firm compares driving the Renovatio T500 to a night spent with a beautiful lover.

The auto show in Monaco will be having a test track so it will be nice to see how this new supercar will perform and how potential buyers can verify what the carmaker has been saying.

There is no word yet about the tag price of the Renovatio T500 nor is there an announcement about the date of delivery of the first units. We are pretty sure we can expect more information before the Monaco car show kicks off.

The company is also working on the Forego T700 believed to be another of its supercars. The vehicle is still on the development phase but should be ready by 2013.

Car manufacturers who have been looking into making their vehicles lighter makes use of carbon fiber in the recent years but it is not really the only material that they can tap to, Audi will be making use of aluminum in the next production of Audi R8 that will roll out in 2014.

The second generation Audi R8 will be donning a combo of carbon fiber and aluminum. This was revealed during a recent interview of Audi top engineer Michael Dick. The choice might be odd considering that Audi has a close tie with Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini which has a monocoque configuration made of carbon fiber for the Aventador, and that they have to face a tough McLaren competition in the market. The Audi executive though explained that the combination of the two materials may actually end up even better.

The production of the Audi R8′s hybrid aluminum and carbon fiber structure will actually cost more but  it will be lighter than the current monocoque that we know of today.  Using the combination of the two materials, Audi promises to have the R8 lighter by about 45 pounds to the current R8 which hits the scales at 490 pounds.

The body work, components of the engine, suspension system, and electronics are also expected to make use of lighter materials to be consistent with the goal of the car manufacturer to make the new Audi R8 the lightest in its segment.  The R8 will try to catch up with the 2012 911 of Porsche by the Volkswagen Group that is around 350 pounds lighter than the R8 now.

The rigidity of the Audi R8 will also improve by 30% or about 29,498 lb-ft in every degree. This number is a lot better than the 458 Italia by Ferrari and the Aventador of Lamborghini.

Audi is not releasing a lot of details about the new R8 but it might be getting a V8 with twin-turbo  which was recently used for the S8, S7 and S6.

While the Audi A5 continues to get a revamped look every now and then, the German automaker recently revealed the upgraded versions of the S5 lineup, which is the bolder and sportier version of its 2012 A5 lineup. The S5 lineup is available in 3 types—sportback, cabriolet, and coupe. Perhaps the most significant upgrade the S5 lineup got is its new 3.0-liter V-6 supercharged engine, the same one that’s attached to the S5s Convertible and the Sportback. The S5 used to carry a 4.2-liter V8 engine that has 354 ponies and 324.5 lb-ft of torque.

The new S5 engine, which is a 3.0 TSI, is packed with 333 ponies and the same torque value. This new engine pushes the revamped S5 Coupe to an impressive 62mph in just 4.9 seconds, which is significantly 0.2 seconds faster compared to the old V-8 engine model. With the new S5 engine in place, the car has a top speed of 155mph or 250 km/h.

The amazing part is that the new V-6 engine model not only improves the car’s performance in terms of speed but also lowers the fuel consumption by up to 20 percent per 100 kilometers.

We’ve spent enough time under the hood, now let’s talk about other upgrades on the S5 model. The old model has a 4-wheel drive system. The new model now has the so-called “crown-gear center differential.” There’s also a new electromechanical power steering mechanism involved in the new model plus some distinct changes in the body details, front lights, pain finishes and trim.

Audi e-TronAfter the great response of the public to the e-Tron EV concept at Los Angeles, Frankfurt, and Detroit Auto shows, Audi revealed that their entire range of electric coupes will carry the e-tron branding and that the roll out of the electric supercars will be limited.

The carmaker appears to be eyeing a similar strategy of how they marketed the legendary Audi Quattro. So we can expect that the e-Tron brand will have the same angst, power, and distinction when it goes to production two years from now.

The first batch of e-Trons will be assembled in Ingolstadt where they also do their electric car research, testing, and designing. The expected end goal is to produce at least 1,000 units of the e-Trons though it has not been revealed which Audi factory will handle the production.

The Audi RS4 which was released back in 2005 was not expected by everyone to meet headon the BMW M3. Thanks to the quattro AWD, good weight distribution, and a powerful V-8, the RS4 was able to upset its rivals. We are not expecting a replacement of the RS4 since Audi only releases the new version during the final years of a car’s run but carmaker is set to unveil the RS5 to fill in the gap.

The 2011 RS5 from Audi will be uncovered during the Geneva Motor Show this March, and it will have an upgraded powerplant from the RS4 under its hood. The RS5 will have an FSI V-8 engine with a displacement of 4.2L. The engine will have an output of 450 horsepower and will have a torque of 317.15 pound feet between 4000 and 6000 rpm.

The powerful engine of the RS5 will be coupled with a dual clutch gearbox that allows you to shift on 7 speeds with S tronic. The car will also have a center differential for the quattro AWD. The new Audi speed machine can rush from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds and is expected to have a top speed of 174 mph.

Despite the impressive performance numbers, the car manages to have a fuel mileage of 21.8 miles per gallon.

Audi is determined to take the lead as the best selling luxury brand in the world by 2015. Accomplishing this goal will entail aggressiveness on the carmaker’s part as it plans to roll out quite a number of new car models.

The car manufacturer is looking at about 42 different car units being marketed by mid of the next decade. Audi is looking at the A7 4-door coupe, A1 minicar, Q3 Crossover, and even a production of its e-tron concept vehicle.

2010 Audi A3Other vehicles to beef up the line up will be variations of their existing models. One of the highly awaited units is the next generation of Audi A3 sedan. According to insiders, the 2013 model A3 sedan will be distributed exclusively in North America.

The financial crisis and weakening dollar has forced Audi to cutback on its plans to launch cars like the A3 convertible and A1 minicar in the United States. However, North America will still see the hybrid version of the Q5 before the year ends, A7 by 2011, and the A3 sedan by 2012.

Audi released information that the 2010 Q7 will get new LED lighting treatment and an upgrade of its Multi Media Interface or MMI. The new Q7 also gets a new style of rims and new paint for the lower body.

The planned changes are very minor considering that the Audi Q7 is one of the most competitive big SUVs in the market right now, rivaling the BMW X5 and the next-gen M-Class from Mercedes-Benz.

A new tail lamp LED setup will be in place. Audi will also make available options for LED daytime lights and turn signals.

    2010 Audi Q7 Facelift

The 2010 Q7 will also have the latest version of Audi’s MMI, joystick control, 3D navigation map, and Sirius traffic data. The driver or occupant can actually say that they are hungry and the system will lead them to the nearest restaurants.

The Q7 has a history of good ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It is also considered one of the safest vehicles in Audi’s fleet with Top Safety Pick recognition from the IIHS or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
