p17 Audi Le MansEveryone was shocked when Audi dominated the podium of the Le Mans 24 Hours. Audi actually claimed all podium position finishing 1-2-3 after the challenge of Peugeot collapsed.

It was an unfortunate scenario for Peugeot which seemed to be on its way to victory when issues on reliability haunted the 908s during the race and all of the Peugeots go into halt before the finish line.

With the collapse of the Peugeot attack, the Audi R15s which struggled with the Peugeots from start of the race just stepped on the pedal to complete the remaining laps.

The team of Mike Rockenfeller, Timo Berhard, and Romain Dumas clinched the first on their first ever Le Mans together. The second podium was claimed by the team of Benoit Treluyer, Marcel Fassler, and Andre Lotterer.

The favored team of Dindo Capello, Tom Kristensen, and Allan McNish got into trouble when they got involved in a controversial collision. They were able to recover and finished the raise on the third podium.

The family effort of Nigel Mansell and his sons Greg and Leo lasted only seventeen minutes when the trio was forced out of the track due to a slow puncture during the early part of the race.
